Gaggenau Hosts Their First Luxury Summit in Miami Beach, Florida

Gaggenau recently hosted their inaugural Luxury Summit at the beautiful Miami Beach Edition hotel. The exclusive event brought together top dealers for a three-day experience featuring presentations and immersive activities set against the backdrop of Miami Beach, Florida.

Exploring Sustainability and Symbiotic Spaces at 1 Hotel San Francisco

Inspired by Northern California’s stunning landscape, 1 Hotel San Francisco is an urban oasis. Located on the famed Embarcadero, the property is filled with thoughtful touches bringing nature into the spaces and providing breathtaking views of the city skyline, iconic buildings, and the San Francisco Bay.

Gaggenau Club 1683 invited a select group of designers and architects for a private tour exploring the sustainable sanctuary with Nick Domitrovich, Director of Hospitality Design at Club 1683 member firm NICOLEHOLLIS and project lead behind the 1 Hotel development. Guests were treated to behind-the-scenes details of the vision for creating a completely sustainable design — the luxury hotel boasts it is 100% Certified Carbon Neutral and LEED certified.

Following the tour, all enjoyed an intimate dinner inspired by San Francisco and featuring sustainably sourced, local, and fresh ingredients at onsite restaurant, Terrene. The ingredients for dishes and cocktails are grown on the chef’s rooftop garden while beehives provide on-site honey production. Beverages, inspired by San Francisco’s neighborhoods and landmarks, highlight an extensive collection of organic agave mezcal and tequila spirits, zero-waste cocktails and other ingredients sourced within 100 miles.

The Surf Club Today: An Insider’s View

From the moment it first opened its doors on New Year’s Eve 1930, The Surf Club has hosted history. When tire visionary Harvey Firestone had the idea to create this new type of social club, he never could have dreamed how it would evolve into what it is today as The Four Seasons Hotel at the Surf Club. Club 1683 members were invited for an inspirational evening of architecture and cuisine at the oceanfront legend.

The evening began with a private architecture tour of the iconic Surf Club on May 8th led by internationally renowned architect Kobi Karp, Founder and Principal of Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design, Inc. Karp, the architect behind the property’s restoration project, led the select group of architects and designers through his work in the Mediterranean Revival hotel and private residences.

Guests were then invited to enjoy an intimate dinner at Chef Thomas Keller’s One MICHELIN star, The Surf Club Restaurant. Chef Keller honored the location’s history of good times and grand parties with a menu featuring classic Continental cuisine including dishes such as grilled Ora King salmon and prime beef short rib Wellington.

A Summer Evening in the Black Forest

The BSH Experience & Design Center was transformed into an enchanted summer evening for a select group of design industry leaders featuring a private pop-up dinner with renowned chef and culinary artist, Bobby Cortez and co-hosted with Petrossian. Chef Cortez is widely recognized for his tasting installations allowing him the freedom to collaborate and incorporate design, architecture, and innovation artistry in his sensorial culinary journeys.

Known for perfecting the art of caviar, Petrossian created an exceptional tasting menu and champagne pairing welcoming some of California’s premier designers, architects and builders to the experience. The evening’s tasting began in the Gaggenau showroom and progressed to the dining room’s Black Forest reveal.

Gaggenau’s Day of ‘Design et Décor’ hosted by Maison&Objet

Heralded as one of the most extensive design trade shows in the world, Gaggenau welcomed several American designers and architects who attended the annual Maison&Objet Design Fair in Paris for a “day full of amazing opportunities” in the world of design & décor.

This Club 1683 program began with petit-dejeuner at the brand-new Gaggenau Paris showroom , before traveling to several locations including: the Atelier Pierre Bonnefille workshop, a private walking tour of the Mobilier National, and an intimate architectural discussion inside the studio apartment of legendary architect Le Corbusier.

Fusing Design & Dining in the Nation’s Capital

In the heart of historic Washington, DC, Gaggenau and co-host dealer ABW welcomed Club 1683 members, prospects and special guests for a private tour of one of Washington’s most significant Romanesque Revival buildings – The Old Post Office.

Designed by the Federal Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury, it was the first Federal building erected on Pennsylvania Avenue, and currently the building’s 315-foot-high clock tower makes it the second-tallest building in Washington.

Following the guided excursion, invitees were welcomed into the Post Office’s newest groundbreaking, culinary experience, The Bazaar. The space, which had yet to be opened to the public, is an avant-garde, American-inspired restaurant and was an idea “30 years in the making” from globally renowned chef José Andrés.

Modern Art and MICHELIN Dining Celebrating Frieze Los Angeles

Gaggenau Club 1683 invited a select group of designers and architects for a private tour of the Mr. Brainwash Museum, curated and led by Thierry Guetta, a.k.a. Mr. Brainwash, himself.

An artist, designer, and filmmaker, Guetta’s museum, featuring his signature “Life is Beautiful” street art and sculpture, was a thought-provoking, joyous and immersive experience for invitees, allowing them to glimpse inside the mind of one of the most provocative figures in the street art movement.

After the private tour, guests were invited to an intimate 9-course pairing dinner at Chef Curtis Stone’s MICHELIN-starred restaurant, Maude. Chef Stone, focused Maude’s menu on seasonal, local California produce, perfect for invitees to savour the delicious pairings like Garbanzo with Jamon Iberico de Bellota and Black Truffles, and Duck with Nixtamalized Crimson Gold Apple, Mole, and Huitlachoe.

Navigating the World of Luxury Business

A select group of Club 1683 members and design professionals were welcomed at The Amine Residence in Houston, Texas for an afternoon of design and delicious food.

The day began with a panel discussion with Houston’s leading influencers of taste and style including Karen Pulaski, Founder of Tribute Goods; Jennifer Burgess Loh, CEO and Creative Director of Burgess Loh; and Suly C Weissman, Architect & Design Manager for BSH Home Appliances. The women shared their personal insights and experiences when navigating client relationships, trends in the high-end design sector, and the ever-changing landscape of the luxury marketplace.

The guests, some who came from as far as Austin, were treated to a delicious three-course luncheon, showcasing this home’s stunning modern kitchen outfitted with a full suite of Gaggenau appliances.

Design Chicago: Throughlines Between Food and Design

Gaggenau, the luxury brand for professional-grade home appliances, and the “Preferred Home Kitchen Appliance Brand of the MICHELIN® Guide,” hosted an intimate event at the iconic Design Chicago showcase in the Merchandise Mart building.

The programming, “Taste for Design: Throughlines Between Food and Design,” featured Chef Noah Sandoval of MICHELIN-starred restaurant “Oriole” and Club 1683 member, Patina Modern’s Pilar Guzman, for an afternoon of light bites and beverages, inspired by the pair, as Chef Sandoval and Pilar discussed the intersections and throughlines that blend contemporary ingredients, flavors, and styles in design and food. Guests were also gifted a copy of Pilar Guzman’s newest book “Patina Modern.”

The Armory Show

Gaggenau hosted a lovely fall brunch in the stunning residence of Ashley Stark Kenner, Creative Director of STARK, the legendary carpet and fabric company, and owner of Ashley Stark Home.

Stark hosted an intimate group of Club 1683 members, and spoke about the inspirations behind her design vision and the creative vision and art influences that informed her Ashley Stark Home Collection.

After brunch, invitees embarked on a private tour of the New York Armory Show. A cornerstone of New York’s cultural landscape since its founding in 1994, The Armory Show brings the world’s leading international contemporary and modern art galleries to New York each year. The fair plays a leading role in the city’s position as an important cultural capital through elevated presentations, thoughtful programming, curatorial leadership, meaningful institutional partnerships, and engaging public art activations.

Exploring Art & Architecture at EXPO CHICAGO

Amidst a vibrant Chicago skyline, Gaggenau hosted several Club 1683 members and special guests for a day long culinary and cultural experience during the EXPO CHICAGO festivities.

Guests began their day at the iconic Merchandise MART building, inside the Gaggenau showroom, for an intimate culinary experience to stimulate the senses.

After indulging in several delicious bites, invitees embarked on a private guided tour of EXPO CHICAGO, The International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, featuring leading international galleries alongside the highest quality platform for contemporary art and culture. A cornerstone of Chicago’s cultural landscape for nearly forty years, EXPO CHICAGO has remained dedicated to supporting local, regional, and international arts communities, with strong regional support throughout the Greater Midwest and beyond.

Restaurant 1683

Guests were transported to the lush Black Forest of Germany with tableside and open cooking displays, and theatrical, eye-opening dining moments from some of the world’s finest chefs.

In the central dining area, trees and greenery give the appearance of being in a lush forest.

Immersive dining spectacles that assail all the senses, Restaurant 1683 and Bistro 1683, both intimate and immersive evenings, delivered engaging culinary experiences from MICHELIN restaurant-starred chefs such as Daniel Humm, Justin Cogley , Gunter Seeger and Bryce Shuman, along with like-minded peers, for all to revel in the world of Gaggenau.
