The versatile Vario Teppan Yaki

Cooking zones

The Vario Teppan Yaki features two separate cooking zones, each half can be operated independently or the entire surface can be set to one temperature when cooking larger quantities of food.

When using only one zone it is recommended to set the temperature 40 degrees higher than when cooking with the entire zone.

When cooking with only one zone the other half of the surface will absorb some heat and can be used to keep food warm.

Using the metal spatulas

Two large metal spatulas with a fine edge are included with The Vario Teppan Yaki for easy handling of food. These spatulas will not damage the surface however, never cut food directly on the surface.

Prevent moisture loss

Avoid adding salt to meat, poultry or fish prior to cooking on The Vario Teppan Yaki to prevent moisture loss.

Cleaning tips

Never clean the surface with harsh abrasive cleaning products and never use hard scratchy dishwashing sponges or scourers.

The appliance can be cleaned while it has some residual heat by adding 5 - 6 ice cubes to the surface. As the water heats it will lift any cooking debris from the surface, use the included spatulas to remove cooking debris and wipe clean with a damp soft cloth.

The appliance can also be cleaned when cooled. Mix 1 cup of water with a few drops of dishwashing liquid and pour over the surface. Turn the temperature control knob to the cleaning position (brush) and leave to soak for 5 - 10 minutes. Mop up the liquid with a sponge and rub the surface dry with a soft cloth.

Cooking Temperature Guidelines

Use a moderate temperature 380 - 400 degrees for cooking more delicate foods such as eggs, fish filets, tofu and thinly sliced vegetables.

Use a medium temperature of 400 - 440 for cooking poultry, potatoes, prawns, scallops and stir-fry noodle dishes.

Use a high temperature of 460 - 480 for searing meat and tuna steak. Reduce the temperature to 380 to cook meat through after searing.
