Presence
From 21 – 26 April, during Milan Design Week 2026, Gaggenau celebrates ‘Presence’ at Villa Necchi Campiglio — a refined architectural installation that sharpens perception and quiets distraction, revealing only what matters.
With Presence, Gaggenau reveals what is essential, and nothing more. A space where what belongs remains and the unnecessary falls away.
At Villa Necchi Campiglio — a rare oasis of stillness within Milan, defined by balance and precision — this idea takes form as a pathway guiding attention inward. Light and structure sharpen perception; every detail considered, each element deliberate.
Gaggenau invites guests to experience what defines the brand, without explanation.
Milan Design Week
During Milan Design Week, Presence unfolds within the historic gardens of Villa Necchi Campiglio, a landmark of Milanese modernism. It invites guests to step away from the noise of the city and into a more focused state of being — where clarity takes form and only what belongs comes into view.
Evolution of the Milan Trilogy
Rooted in the belief that true refinement emerges through restraint, Gaggenau continues its quiet evolution, from its arrival at Milan Design Week with A Statement of Form in 2022, to a glimpse of the future with The Elevation of Gravity in 2024, to now realising that trajectory with Presence in 2026 — each chapter moving closer to essence, from the visible to the perceptible, from becoming to being.
Architectural installation
Set within the gardens of Villa Necchi Campiglio, the installation occupies a dedicated architectural structure defined by clarity, proportion and restraint. The space draws visitors inward, allowing awareness to deepen as distraction falls away.
Here, architecture does not merely host presence; it becomes it. Light, shadow and material create a spatial rhythm. Appliances appear as intentional focal points, holding the space with quiet confidence and revealing their purpose without needing display. The result is an architectural composition where space guides attention and clarity enriches the moment.
Presence at Villa Necchi Campiglio is not an installation to observe, but a state to enter.
It clarifies what belongs, and lets the rest fall away. As guests step back out into the Villa Necchi gardens, the world feels quieter. What matters remains. This is arrival in its purest form: life as it should be.
