The inaugural Gaggenau Craftsmanship Dinner in Abu Dhabi.

Hosted in the work of art that is the Louvre in Abu Dhabi, the leading luxury brand of professional grade appliances for the private chefs – Gaggenau – crafted an awe-inspiring evening for a small contingency of honoured guests. Fitting of such a prestigious location, Gaggenau’s theme for the evening banquet was centred around craftsmanship.

As the new year commences and many begin to adopt new aspirations and abilities, it is only fitting to bear in mind this notion of craftsmanship. January will see countless peoples relinquish their new-found endeavours, however, those that reach success will only do so because they stick to the painstaking process. This is the epitome of craft.

Born from one of the intrinsic ideologies of Gaggenau - the theme permeated through every touchpoint, and gave guests the opportunity to experience and fully immerse themselves in finest examples of craft. This ideology can be seen across all Gaggenau appliances – which are renowned for their meticulous hand finishing – and the evening celebrated this ethos with a cornucopia of sumptuous articulations from different creators.

One prime example was the delectable exclusive Champs-Elysées menu. Created by Fouquet’s Executive Chef Balveer Balkinssoon in collaboration with the renowned French chef Pierre Gagnaire, diners were treated to world class culinary craft. The artistry that went into the making of the cuisine could readily be seen as an extension of the mastery that goes into the making of the Gaggenau appliances used to create them.

As well as the palate pleasing dinner, attendees were given the opportunity to explore the craftsmanship behind Salama Khalfan’s Fine Jewellery. Divided across five steps and placed on five towering plinths, the detailed process of creating a unique piece of Fine Jewellery was laid bare for all to admire.

Another specimen of fine artisanry on the night was the fragrant display by the luxury perfume brand, Ali Al Jaberi Oud Arabian Perfumery. Guests were even able to sample the scent of craftsmanship as they were taken through the unique collection of ingredients that make up the distinct aromas.

Completing the full sensorial experience of craft for the evening was the melodious piano. This exceptional Steinway & Sons instrument was instrumental for the occasion as expert pianists played throughout the whole evening from start to finish, enhancing the already high-status affair.

This highly exclusive event typified and brought to life the integral ethos of Gaggenau – craftsmanship – in a seamless and charming manner. Much like their appliances, every detail was thought through to ensure that guests were left feeling inspired for the rest of the year to come. And we hope after reading this, you feel the same.
