New awards – a new standard

The new World Restaurant Awards come to life on February 18 in Paris, showcasing culinary excellence as well as ethics, suppliers, heritage, diversity and originality. These annual awards complement our own ethos: a commitment to heritage crafts, rare breeds and those helping to preserve them.

As a proud partner to this red-carpet event, we will be a big part of the night.

The event of the year

This will be a gala evening of celebration, the international restaurant scene’s equivalent to the Oscars, and it will mark the beginning of a new benchmark in gastronomy. Guests from all over the world will enjoy an evening discovering new culinary geniuses and savoring exceptional cuisine, fine wine and champagne in the opulent surroundings of the Palais Brongniart.

Judges have made their decisions: Restaurants, pop-ups, chefs, suppliers, novices and the industry as a whole will have their futures changed.

100 judges: big names, new names

Uniquely, half the WRA judges are women That, along with the choice of categories ensures the results are far more representative of the modern food-lover's more open-minded appetite for both fine and down-to-earth cuisine.

The awards

There are 18 highly sought-after awards on the nights: 12 "Big Plates" that champion excellence, integrity and diversity throughout the industry and covering subjects such as best restaurant, new arrival, off the map, original thinking, enduring classics, residencies and pop-ups, atmosphere, ethical thinking and suppliers. Six further "Small Plates" reflect a more light-hearted approach with awards for the best Instagram account, trolley service, tattoo-free chef, red-wine serving, tweezer-free kitchen and long-form journalism.
