Fully integrated automatic dishwasher with controls mounted on the top edge of door to allow for a full panel to cover the front of the dishwasher. It is completely concealed by furniture trim - combinable with all appliance series. The DF 251 has five dishwashing programs with Aqua-Sensor which selects the washing time automatically depending on boiling and load. The upper basket is adjustable even when the basket is loaded.

Glass care technology
This new technology avoids damaging fine glassware in several ways: The heat exchanger prevents extreme fluctuation in water temperature, and the surface of your glassware is also protected because the hardness of the water, which is also normally subject to fluctuation, is controlled during the washing process. Both the glassware and soaking programs described above are extremely gentle washing methods.

The three main programs can be speeded up whenever items - even those that are heavily soiled - are needed again in a hurry. The best performance is produced in less than one hour.

Aqua sensor
This controls the use of fresh water without compromising the rinse results. On programs with pre-wash, an infrared sensor checks the cleanliness of the water after the pre-wash. If the sensor detects that the water can still be used for the subsequent main wash cycle, the water is not changed as it it usually is otherwise. This enables a saving of water of up to one gallon with normal soiling, depending on the program. In Gaggenau´s fully-automatic dishwashers small dirt particles, e.g. residue from tea, are detected in the water. This allows even more efficient use of main water, without impairing rinsing.

Heat exchanger
This innovative technology makes use of residual heat in the wash cycle water in an intelligent way. The fresh cold water is collected in a side-mounted reservoir in the dishwasher, ready for use in the next wash cycle, while being pre-heated by the hot water of the current cycle. No more electricity is needed for the drying cycle, which cuts energy consumption by about 15%. Also, keeping the temperature even protects decorative trims and glassware.

Rackmatic
The height of the dishwasher´s top basket can be easily adjusted by 2 inches, even when fully loaded. This means that bulky items, such as tall glasses in the top basket or big plates in the bottom one, can be easily accommodated without having to rearrange absolutely everything.
